Tri-Cities, Washington
Next event: Bookstore Romance Day · August 15The Tri-Cities is full of readers. We're a literary nonprofit supporting the local authors and indie bookstores who serve them, and we raise money to help bring bigger literary events out this way. The goal is a place with a real literary life of its own, where seeing an author on tour or going to a bookish ball or convention doesn't mean a drive over the mountains.
Our work
We fundraise to bring authors out to the Tri-Cities, for evenings of readings and conversation with the people who love their work. Some are names you'll recognize, and some are writers who live an hour down the road and deserve a proper room. Your donations help us cover what it takes to get them here.
What we raise stays east of the Cascades, with the independent bookstores and regional writers who give this side of the state its literary life. We buy from local shelves at full retail, and when there's a stage to fill, we look close to home first.
The Tri-Cities was building its literary community long before we arrived, in book clubs and reading series that fill rooms on their own. Our part is a quiet one. We underwrite the work and partner where we're invited, so the people who built this can keep leading it.
Support our work
Everything we raise goes back into the Tri-Cities reading life, through our programs and the general fund that keeps them running. See how each one works, or jump straight in.
