Shelf Life

Put books on shelves.

Every quarter, readers vote on a book by a local or regional author. We buy the winner from a Tri-Cities indie bookstore and place copies in free libraries across the metro. When the next vote opens, we'll make sure you hear about it.

How Shelf Life works

Round Table

Take care of book club night.

When a Tri-Cities book club picks a regional author's book, we buy the copies from a local indie bookstore. How much of this we can do depends on funding, so giving where it's needed most is what keeps the table set for the next club.

How Round Table works

General Fund

Give where it's needed most.

We also run on the less-visible work: licensing fees, insurance, venue rentals, and the dozen small things that keep events going. A gift here lets us put your support wherever it's most useful at the moment.

Give to general operations

Author Fund

Bring writers to readers.

Your gift underwrites author visits to the Tri-Cities: honoraria, travel, lodging, and the small things that make a good author experience into a great one. Gifts of any size add up here, from a warm welcome for a visiting writer to bringing a debut novelist out to read.

Give to the Author Fund

Folklore Society is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 42-1823147). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We process all donations through Zeffy, a platform that charges no fees, so 100% of your gift reaches Folklore.
